Viele nehmen an, dass das Unterscheidungsmerkmal einer Fantasia die geschwungenen Linien des gewichteten Rades sind, obwohl es eigentlich das unauffällige Design des Flügels ist, das die meiste Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zieht. Das Design des Flügels ermöglicht es dem Spinner, einfach und schnell von Spule zu Spule zu wechseln, ohne ein Antriebsband entfernen zu müssen.
